Notes for Nicholas BELT

The two wives of Nicholas were sisters, daughters of Nicholas Parrish and Mary Ensor. Nicholas moved to OH in 1819 with his widowed mother Ellen Belt, brother Benjamin, and newly wed sister, Rebecca and John Parrish

He had 6 or 7 children with Rebecca Ann and 4 or 5 children with Tabitha. Possibly John, Lewis, Sarah, Mary, Rebecca, Kinsey, & Benj. T. were by the first m., & Harriet C., Joseph, Rachel, & Julia by second m.
Does anyone have proof that one of the first seven was by the second wife? Census of 1880, Walnut, Fairfield Co., OH, Kinsa BELT, 35, OH; wf. Almeda, 30; ch. Nicolas, Henry, Emma, Thomas, Daisy, & Dary.

FamilySearch database of the 1880 Census, Walnut, Fairfield, OH, BELT: Tabitha, 61; daus. Rachel E., 26, & Julia A., 24, all b. OH, but girls' father b. MD {Tabitha PARRISH, 2d wf. & wid/o Nicholas BELT, s/o Joseph}

Oldest child of Rebecca and Nicholas Belt was Sarah born April 22, 1840, so marriage could be about 1839. Rebecca died in 1846. Tabitha's oldest child was born December 15, 1849.

Marriage of Tabitha and Nicholas would have been between 1846 and 1849.

Nicholas is buried in the Parrish Cemetery in Millersport, Ohio.
