Benjamin moved to OH in 1819 with his widowed mother Ellen Belt, brother Nicholas, and newly wed sister, Rebecca and John Parrish.

BELT was a resident of Liberty Twp. & a lifelong one of Fairfield Co., OH., b. 22 Jan. 1833, Walnut Twp., s/o Benjamin BELT & Mary [sic, Angelica] PAR[R]ISH. [Angelica (6 Mar. 1804/6, MD - 1886, OH; youngest child of Aquilla PARRISH & Rebecca TIPTON)] born in Maryland , came at age eleven {1815/17} with her parents to Ohio.
There are tombstones in Fletcher Cem., near Baltimore, Fairfield Co., OH, for Angelico {sic} BELT (1806 - 1886);
George W. BELT (1833 - 1915);
Rebecca* BELT (1834 - 1905);
Mary E. BELT (1838 - 1933); et al.
* Benjamin's dau. Rebecca m. Jas. GOOD, so the Rebecca b. 1834 was nee RANDALL, wf/o Geo. W. BELT. Census of 1880, Walnut, Fairfield, OH, has Geo. W., 47, OH MD MD; wf. Rebecca, 45, MD MD MD; ch. Valentine, 22, OH; James or Joseph? 20; & "other" Charlotte PARISH, 8.
