[Edward S. Belt] Catherine Dulany was descended from the Hon. Daniel Dulany, Sr (b. 1686, Queens Co., Ireland, d. 1753, Annapolis, MD). The family mythology has it that when Daniel Dulany left Ireland, he changed the spelling of his name from Delaney. He had a very notable political and lawyer's career. His son Daniel Dulany, Jr sided with King George during the Revolution and lost land for being a Royalist. He however, did not leave America. He stuck it out, and regained a good income.
